SAN TRIBE PORTRAIT - IAOXA

This portrait of an African tribal man was taken by Klaus Tiedge on location in a small village in the San region of Namibia. The man, called Iaoxa, is a member of the Ibanda tribe and holds a spear in his hand. He is wearing traditional tribal clothing, including a cloak and headdress, which provides an interesting insight into his heritage.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

German-born Klaus Tiedge (1965-2019) had been a prominent figure in commercial photography for more than 20 years, having worked in numerous countries, including India, Japan, Brazil and the USA. In 2001 Klaus moved to South Africa and settled in Cape Town, taking full advantage of the thriving fashion industry and the region's optimal conditions.
